This great value wine is an assemblage from a number of the Bret Brothers’ parcels, mainly based in Mâcon-Fuissé and Chaintré but also from Viré-Clessé La Verchère, Saint-Véran En Combe and Pouilly-Fuissé. Excellent terroirs that are blended to create a good value primer to the vintage. The last 50-litres of each of the La Soufrandière (unfiltered) cuvées are also filtered and then blended into this Mâcon-Villages. The wine is then raised mostly in tank. It may be only the entry point wine, but it’s a cracker – white flowers, grapefruit and white peach notes, sappy acidity and a chalky freshness.
