Citrus, just think citrus. Lime that’s fresh juice, zest and preserved, Tangelo, Ruby Grapefruit, Mandarin blossom, gentle spice and Gardenia. Concentrated and deep, such a threading the needle attack, so precise and linear, then pincering the palate with wave after wave of flavour. Intense, dazzling and vital, with a finish that goes on and on. Waters Wine Co
Less that 20% of the usual volume made. This wine is made without additions of yeast, nutrients or enzymes. Once the juice is in the barrel a small amount of sulphur is added and then we wait, usually about five days, for the fermentation to begin. The wine spent 10 months on yeast lees in French barrels, of which 25% were new, and was bottled in late February. Typical and distinctive aromas of grapefruit and lemon with jasmine blossom lift from the glass and with time gently creamy and savoury/spicy aromas emerge. The palate is full, fresh, chalky, zesty, harmonious and quite smooth. It’s early days and five years of careful cellaring will see a building of complexity and texture.

Almost invariably the most sought after wine of the release, no doubt due to the fame of this vineyard. A real statement of Yarra cool, waving the flag for contemporary Australian Chardonnay, pioneered in the Yarra Valley. Almost Puligny like in it’s initial aromatic reticence and floral notes. But with a bit of warmth, comes […]
Add to cart Producer: A RoddaThe lieux-dit of Les Chevalieres is situated above the village of Meursault. Above is the lieux-dit of Les Luchets, which produces a higher toned, more tensile wine. I can’t help but think that this is ideally situated, in a sense, mid-slope, the perfect aspect in Burgundy. Impossibly complex, with notes of white flowers, lemon, lime, […]
Add to cart Producer: Fabien CocheThe 2018 Meursault Le Limozin wafts from the glass with notes of ripe pear, orange rind, hazelnuts and sourdough. On the palate, it’s medium to full-bodied, elegantly textural and lively, with a broader attack than the more incisive Chevalières, concluding with a saline finish. 90-92 points, William Kelly, The Wine Advocate Outstanding. Top Value. A […]
Add to cart Producer: Henri GermainA wine of shape and shadow, flavours coming and going, textures altering and a structure that is almost hidden. Subtle aromatics of mandarin blossom, yellow fruits and Rodda’s signature fruit tingle tang. The richest and most structured of the single vineyard chardonnays. Deep, concentrated and driven by pure yellow fruits, preserved citrus, salt, wood spice […]
