“The king of the cellar is the 2019 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, a deep and concentrated wine that wafts from the glass with aromas of pear, peach, freshly baked bread, white flowers, ripe citrus fruits and buttered popcorn. Medium to full-bodied, ample and satiny, with a layered, multidimensional profile and a long, saline finish, it has turned out brilliantly.” 94+ points, William Kelley, the Wine Advocate
“Most of the vines are massal selections planted between 1972 and 1978. Sulphured before the harvest and racked after. Pale lemon and lime, very stylish. Really refined, a touch of the expected juniper and verbena, all about the vineyard. Potentially a really fine classic here. Genevrières doesn’t fluctuate from one year to the next, in Antoine’s opinion.” 93-96 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
The Jobards’ 0.7-hectare parcel lies next to the iconic Genevrières cabotte (or workers cottage) in Genevrières Dessous and the vines are 35 years old. Year-in and year-out, this is a wine of great depth, purity and intensity—a characteristic Jobard attributes to the quality of his vine material, a massale selection planted in the 1960s. “Here, we always get well-formed berries, we don’t see deterioration or either under- or over-ripe grapes. It is always very well balanced. We always have good pH and incredible acidity”, he says—something important in these drier and warmer vintages.

The 2021 La Petite Mort Chardonnay is one of the best value whites on the market in Australia. It has everything you’d hope for in a Chardy, but with a touch of exoticism that sets it apart. All the bells and whistles applied with aplomb, from a smoky, creamed cashew nose of barrel fermentation to a generous mid-palate flecked with crystalline mineral shards, pungent miso and candied cumquat. White peach and nectarine accents teem long across a juicy trail, just fresh enough. Light years away from any thin, linear expression. A chardonnay […]Add to cart Producer: Bondar
Citrus, just think citrus. Lime that’s fresh juice, zest and preserved, Tangelo, Ruby Grapefruit, Mandarin blossom, gentle spice and Gardenia. Concentrated and deep, such a threading the needle attack, so precise and linear, then pincering the palate with wave after wave of flavour. Intense, dazzling and vital, with a finish that goes on and on. […]Add to cart Producer: Bindi
