Antoine Jobard Meursault 1er Cru Genevrieres 2018

Clear pale lemon colour. The bouquet offers a little more nuance of fruit than the Charmes, this is certainly the most complex wine in the cellar, opening out beautifully and offering lots of detail with some fresh tisane notes alongside the fruit. Everything is perfectly proportioned in this wine and the finish shows the same balance. I expect the 2019 will be more concentrated, but don’t miss out on this. 93-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Sweetspot. Outstanding. A wonderfully elegant and ever-so-mildly exotic nose requires some determined swirling to reveal notes of spiced tea, passion fruit and white peach. The sublimely textured but chiseled middle weight flavors brim with mineral on the linear, focused and impressively persistent finale. This isn’t super-dense but it’s very classy. 92-94 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

The king of the cellar this year is the 2018 Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières, a deep and layered wine that unwinds in the glass with notes of citrus oil, fresh Anjou pear, peach and white flowers. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional, it’s bright, lively and concentrated, with a textural, enveloping profile of considerable charm. 94 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
