The 2017 Old Hut Shiraz has an enticing nose of dark berry fruits and lifted spice. It’s a dense, more brooding style of Shiraz compared to the Tyrrell’s 4 Acres. Yet it still shows the pedigree of its lineage with superb balance and length.
The Old Hut vineyard was planted in 2003 with cuttings taken from Tyrrell’s 4 Acres vineyard. The block is next to the 4 Acres and features the ideal red clay soils which give their wines their unique character.

2017 is the first ever release of the Mother’s Shiraz. It has an intense aromatic profile that is very true to the Tyrrell’s style with an abundance of summer fruits. The palate is fresh and juicy with only the subtle influence of oak. Mother’s vineyard is situated adjacent to Chris and Tegan Tyrrell’s house and […]
Add to cartThe only thing wrong with this wine, sourced from a 0.38-hectare vineyard in Cape Town, is that there’s so little of it, owing to the size of the parcel and the strong prevailing winds. Add to cart Producer: SavageTerrific rendition of Greenock Creek’s rich and opulent flavours. Full bodied, with black fruits, some sweet raspberry, sumac, cinnamon and wood spice. Round in shape, it’s not heavy and is surprisingly light on it’s feet. Despite all the apparent presence and flavour, there’s a youthful brightness, conveyed by the fine, soft tannins. Lovely focus and […]
Add to cart Producer: Laughing JackVibrant purple colour, with a lifted nose showing red fruits and Christmas cake spice. The palate has wonderful concentration and depth yet is still lively and fresh. Soft ripe tannins and piquant acidity drive and carry the wine. A wonderful example of the modern, medium bodied Hunter Valley Shiraz. Unbelievable complexity and detail for a […]
