The only thing wrong with this wine, sourced from a 0.38-hectare vineyard in Cape Town, is that there’s so little of it, owing to the size of the parcel and the strong prevailing winds. Pure, taut, focused and refined, it’s peppery, herbal, graceful and red-fruited, with a delicacy and elegance that wouldn’t look out of place in Côte Rôtie. 2024-30. 97 points – Tim Atkin MW
Terrific rendition of Greenock Creek’s rich and opulent flavours. Full bodied, with black fruits, some sweet raspberry, sumac, cinnamon and wood spice. Round in shape, it’s not heavy and is surprisingly light on it’s feet. Despite all the apparent presence and flavour, there’s a youthful brightness, conveyed by the fine, soft tannins. Lovely focus and […]
Add to cart Producer: Laughing JackSourced from a single 2.4ha block of shiraz on Moppa Hill in the western Barossa, destemmed whole berries. Aged for 20 months in 63% seasoned French, 25% new French and 12% seasoned American oak hogsheads. Shawn Kalleske has composed a wonderful contemporary Barossa shiraz here. Compact, with excellent fruit purity, a super-ripe plum and blackberry […]
Add to cartDeep, bright red-purple colour; the bouquet likewise bright and fresh, initially with a high-note of freshly-sawn oak, which dissipated somewhat with time in the glass. The palate is bright, intense and elegantly weighted, just making the full-bodied weight category. It’s quite oaky but has good approachability, medium-long carry, and the tannins are ample and very […]
Add to cart Producer: EisenstoneAromas of cherry, violet, plum, chocolate and woody notes. Intense and full bodied, a real attack of flavour. Enveloping with red fruits, the most in this lineup, blackberry, mulberry, chocolate, vanilla, fennel and wood char. Round in shape, fleshy and driven with lively acidity and lacey, chalky tannins. For all its size, this is remarkably […]
