The 2018 Entity from John Duval is a vibrant purple-red. It has lifted notes of violets, boysenberry and blackcurrant, enhanced by hints of anise and clove spice. Awash with fresh, vibrant blue fruits/ blueberries and concentrated plum with hints of cedar spice finishing with flowing waves of extremely fine tannins. Ample cellaring potential. Stunning wine.
Duval’s Entity Shiraz nails it again. This is walk up quality. Deep dark berried fruit flavours, swish smoky/cedary oak, ripples of spice-infused tannin. Plenty of length, all fine and filigreed. It’s warm-hearted but it’s manicured. It’s also eminently seductive. 94 points – Campbell Mattinson, The Winefront
