Bright opaque ruby before launching into a full throttle example of the Barossa that is dense, unctuous and built for the cellar. Brooding aromas of chocolate, blackberry, cherry liqueur, tar and earth to start which while concentrated are also reserved – this wine is built to last. The palate continues along the same vein with inky concentration and focussed fruit showing both power and detail. A muscular structure and caramel oak completes the package and showcase a wine that, while delicious now, will get even better with time in the bottle. 96 Points – Angus Hughson, Wine Pilot
Deep crimson. Very attractive black cherry, dark plum, mocha, dark chocolate aromas with ginger spice notes. Smooth black cherry, dark musky plum fruits, persistent velvety tannins and beautifully integrated savoury/mocha notes. Lovely chocolaty finish. Voluminous and delicious. Brilliant early to medium term drinking style. Drink now – 2026. 95 Points – Andrew Caillard, The Vintage Journal
