Made from 85% to 90% de-stemmed fruit with 18 months maturation in French oak of which 10% was new. Totally opaque black dark red core with a bright purple red hue. Nosing reveals a fragrant bouquet of spicy plum and red liquorice scents overlaid by a mix of clove and smoky cedar. Some meaty notes, earthy herbs and hints of white pepper are also evident. Medium bodied and exceptionally smooth, the palate is graced with an elegant flavour profile of red plums, red cherries and red liquorice which meld into cedar, traces of clove, dried meats and spicy herbs. Very polished feel with integrated finely grained tannins and a savoury aftertaste.
