Traviarti Rosso Nebbiolo 2021


No doubt about it, we love our bistro and restaurant reds! To put this wine into context, Louise’s verdict “I prefer it to the Burgundy”. The Burgundy was an excellent 2015 premier cru from the great Domaine Bruno Clair, drunk the night before. Vivid and intense bouquet of blueberry, rhubarb, cherry raspberry, cassis and lavender. Sweet and tangy, the flavours coat the mouth with mouth watering detail. So much energy! So many Australian bistro reds are sour from unripe fruit, but this is perfect. Cracking 2021 vintage – ripe fruit, good acid retention and inherent balance. The Rosso blend is now roughly 85% Nebbiolo, 15% Barbera and it hits just the right balance of savoury and fruitfulness. For us this is ideal early drinking and ready for the table now! Winemaker’s Notes
