A blend of Pinot Noir, Poulsard and Trousseau, from biodynamically farmed old vines on limestone and clay soils. The Cotes du Jura Rouge from Jean Bourdy undergoes natural fermentation in vats for 12-15 days. This is followed by long slow elevage in old oak barrels. Minimal addition of sulphur. The 2017 has a delicate, floral perfume with strawberry notes. Earthy yet refreshing, this is a beautiful wine that aims to please and does so in spades. This wine is fabulous value for lovers of Burgundy. A cult wine from a cult producer.
