From a collection of old vines (50 years old), Santa Duc’s Vielles Vignes 2017 is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and splashes of Cinsault, Cournoise and Carignan. Aged in vats on lees. Minimal sulphur. This is a superb full-bodied red showing classic southern Rhône characters. Dark plums, currants and big lavender-thyme herbal notes along with black pepper and lively acidity. Fresh and assertive.
