2016 was an excellent year for Bordeaux and so it was for Le Puy. Darker fruited than the 2015 vintage with attractive garnet colour and purplish hues. The nose is complex; with blueberry, cassis and redcurrant, hints at sous-bois and gravel. Still medium-bodied, it is very precise, with fine tannins paving the way for a very long and complex finish. A wine of great finesse, sensual in its youth but also with the potential to age and grow for several decades, revealing the full depth and character of this superb terroir. The epitome of elegance and refinement, this 2016 will cellar to advantage for 30-40 years!
