We tasted the 2019 from magnum recently, and was astonished by the succulent freshness and impeccable balance. Certainly one of the best Tempranillo based wine’s from Australia. The 2020 couldn’t be better and what a wine to follow the wonderful 2019. Darker in colour, with a deep nose of cherry cola, five spice, aniseed, cassis and kirsch. The palate is richer and deeper than the 2019. Succulent and juicy with vibrant clack and red fruit, five spice and licorice washing over a frame of melting tannins and high toned acidity. The depth and detail is astonishing at this price. Waters Wine Co.
From one of WA’s greatest vineyards in Frankland River. Bush vine dry grown Tempranillo, three clones of Shiraz. 100% whole bunch natural ferment then raised in older French puncheons on gross lees for 9 months. Classic cola nut, dark plum, spicy tomato sugo and Old Jamaican chocolate. Generously luscious palate with lovely balance, plums and cherry cola, stalky scaffolding.
