Vincent Dancer Pommard Les Perrieres 2020

$160.00

Outstanding. Ripe and nicely fresh aromas of dark cherry, poached plum and plenty of earth lead to delicious and punchy middle weight flavors that conclude in a dusty and moderately firm but not really austere or rustic finale. This quality effort should repay mid-term keeping and is really quite good for its level. 89-91 points, Allen Meadows, Burghound

Bursting with aromas of cherries, plums and cassis mingled with sweet soil tones and petals, Dancer’s 2020 Pommard Les Perrières is medium to full-bodied, lively and charming, with a fleshy core of vibrant fruit and fine, chalky tannins. 89-91 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Driving south on the D974, Les Perrières sits under the famed Clos des Epeneaux and is the first Pommard vineyard on your right after you leave the commune of Beaune. The Dancers farm almost one hectare of vines here, planted in 2012. They work with very low yields to achieve the textural richness and seduction you’ll find here. It’s a darker, inkier wine than the Beaune (as you would expect), but it still offers lovely finesse and purity.
