It’s hard to express, but smells tighter, with some more noticeable oak. Plum, Daphne, creme de cassis, raspberry and brown spice. The structure is more evident than in the Mature Vine and is cooler, cosseted and slightly less expressive. Very long, so persistent with those trademark velvety/chalk tannins that become more firm and morph into lavender wood. Built and detailed with layers of flavour and texture that seem threaded, and then pull apart. Remarkable and very long-lived. Waters Wine Co
Complex aromas of cranberries, ripe strawberries, smoke and dried flowers with hints of mushrooms. Slate, too! Full-bodied with chewy tannins and a long, flavourful finish. This is powerful and structured, with seriousness all around. Give it three or four years to open. Try after 2023. – JamesSuckling.com 97 Points – JamesSuckling.com
