The most rich and powerful of the single vineyards, and a unique flavour profile. Quite closed to begin with, but with a bit of air and time; expressive. Earth and smoke, iodine, Serrano, black and red fruits, cocoa and orange. Full bodied, round in shape and expansive. Incredible power here, chiselling acidity cutting and dissecting the ripe, melting tannins. Sweet and tangy fruit, and buoyant. There’s a wildness, a feeling of almost losing control, all the components leashed, but straining in all directions. Absolutely fascinating wine, redefining Australian Pinot Noir. There’s nothing quite like it. Waters Wine Co
A deeper colour for this maker, bright red with a strong purple tint, and the wine has more weight than usual, the bouquet bright cherry and spice laced with balsamic herbs. Delicious flavours on a medium-full-bodied palate, with soft, fine tannins and a long carry. Serious concentration. It seems like a deeper, darker and richer wine from a warmer season. Superb. 96 Points – Huon Hooke, The Real Review
Such a beautifully balanced and seamlessly integrated pinot noir. There is a finer mouthfeel than the Mill Hill yet there is power, real power here. Has a slightly sweet and sour character with a cherry and faint raspberry nuance. Bright and high fidelity with just a little tannin grip to tidy up the finish. Excellent. 96 Points – Ray Jordan, The West Australian
