The Lamarche Echézeaux comes from three lieux-dits: Les Cruots ou Vignes Blanches, Clos-Saint-Denis, and Les Champs Traversins. Altogether these parcels make up about 1.3 hectares of vines with an average age of 30 years. Nicole Lamarche works with very low yields here, which, alongside the Domaine’s delicate extraction, results in a superb expression of this terroir. Of this cuvée, Jasper Morris has written, “… [it] has almost as much to offer as the Grands Echézeaux. True, the latter has greater weight and power, but the Echézeaux… is particularly elegant in its immaculate, lacy style.” Another very fairly priced grand cru.
Fine bright crimson purple. The bouquet awaits future development. There is considerable weight of fruit starting at the front of the palate, an elegance in the fruit profile, but a feeling that there is more detail to be shown later. A leaner finish after the relatively velvety texture of the wine across the palate, as there is a touch more acidity here. 93-96 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

The latest rendition of a cuvée that goes from strength to strength, Glantenay‘s old vine 2019 Pommard 1er Cru Les Saussilles offers up notions of Griotte cherries, cassis, potpourri and dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, racy and concentrated, with superb depth at the core and a saline finish, it’s well worth seeking out. As I’ve written […]
Add to cart Producer: Thierry Glantenay“A little lighter in crimson purple and showing a touch of oak now. Quite powerful, not quite so harmonious but note that this has been tasted directly after the sublime Nuits-St-Georges Aux Boudots. Actually, this is a fine and nicely nuanced Vosne-Romanée.” 90-93 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy “There is a very pretty, perfumed and high-toned […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin LerouxNatural cork. With both this cuvée and the wonderful Rugiens-Hauts, Leroux is back in Pommard with a bang. The 2019 is a blend of Les Vaumuriens (high on the slope) and Les Cras (on the lower slope), both vineyards lying on the Volnay side of the village. Leroux notes the cooler, hillside fruit from Les Vaumuriens brings freshness and balance to the blend. […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin Leroux“The 2020 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Rouge has a little more florality on the nose compared to the Bourgogne Rouge, just a touch more delineation. The palate is crunchy in the mouth and displays a little more energy compared to the Bourgogne Rouge. Pretty, yet early-drinking.” 88 points, Neal Martin, Vinous Lamarche holds 1.5 hectares in […]
