From a 0.39ha plot, planted in 1952, 1976 on 50 cm deep brown clay and limestone soil. 90% de-stemmed, pneumatic pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation Aged for 18 months in oak barrels (15% new), unfiltered.
The 2018 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru has an absolutely glorious bouquet of perfumed black cherries, blueberry, potpourri and light violet aromas that are understated and yet focused and delineated. The palate is medium-bodied with a precise opening, and very harmonious and sensual. Pure, mineral-driven red fruit defines the effortless finish. Stunning. 93-95 points, Neal Martin, Vinous
The 2018 Volnay 1er Cru Mitans is built for the long haul, unwinding in the glass with notes of cassis, dark chocolate, sweet soil tones and potpourri. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, with an ample chassis of rich, powdery tannins and lively balancing acids. 92 – 94 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
From Mitans proper. A wonderfully pure, airy and attractively fresh nose requires plenty of swirling to reveal the spicy red currant cherry, floral and herbal tea scents. There is excellent intensity to the mineral-driven middle weight flavors that possess a supple mid-palate that is almost delicate while displaying fine length on the silky-textured finish. A classic Mitans of lace and grace. 91-93 points, Allen Meadow, Burghound

The Lamarche Echézeaux comes from three lieux-dits: Les Cruots ou Vignes Blanches, Clos-Saint-Denis, and Les Champs Traversins. Altogether these parcels make up about 1.3 hectares of vines with an average age of 30 years. Nicole Lamarche works with very low yields here, which, alongside the Domaine’s delicate extraction, results in a superb expression of this terroir. Of this cuvée, Jasper Morris has […]
Add to cart Producer: Francois LamarcheLamarche’s 1.35 hectares of vineyards in the Clos de Vougeot are situated over three terroirs: one is at the top of the Clos near the Château (actually there are two small parcels in the area known as Montiotes Hautes); another is in the middle tranche on the Vosne side (Petits Maupertuis); and the remaining parcel is […]
Add to cart Producer: Francois LamarcheNatural cork. With both this cuvée and the wonderful Rugiens-Hauts, Leroux is back in Pommard with a bang. The 2019 is a blend of Les Vaumuriens (high on the slope) and Les Cras (on the lower slope), both vineyards lying on the Volnay side of the village. Leroux notes the cooler, hillside fruit from Les Vaumuriens brings freshness and balance to the blend. […]
Add to cart Producer: Benjamin Leroux“Deep purple black, surprisingly little nose. Juicy pure red fruit, classic rather than hot vintage fruit in the mouth and impressively concentrated, firmer structure than in 2019. Really long finish. I am rather impressed by this.” 87-89 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy This bright and juicy Bourgogne was drawn from three parcels: one-third comes from […]
