From a 0.39ha plot, planted in 1952, 1976 on 50 cm deep brown clay and limestone soil. 90% de-stemmed, pneumatic pressing, indigenous yeast fermentation Aged for 18 months in oak barrels (15% new), unfiltered.
The 2017 Volnay Les Mitans 1er Cru, which has a little whole bunch fruit, has a more open and expressive bouquet compared to the Les Pitures.
