From Petit Pré which was once classified as Volnay villages. Planted between 1966-1977. 2 weeks cuvaison, indigenous yeast fermentation. Aged for 18 months in older barrels.
‘The 2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, a blend of two vineyards, offers vivid red cherry, raspberry and light bergamot scents on the nose, well-defined, perhaps not with quite the same class as the Passetoutgrains. The harmonious palate has impressive grip, quite Volnay-like in style, unsurprising given that the vines conjoin the appellation, quite sumptuous on the finish. Worth seeking out. Drink 2025-2035’ (87-99) points, Neal Martin, Vinous Oct 2023
‘The 2022 Bourgogne Pinot Noir delivers aromas of cherries, plums and sweet berries, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and fine-boned palate. Drink 2024-2033’ 88 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate Jan 2024
‘Mid crimson. A deliciously perfumed bouquet of grapes picked at perfect ripeness. Starts with an agreeable pure pinot then kicks on, with extra concentration at the back of the palate. Tannins nicely folded in. Harmonious. Tasted Dec 2023.’ 5 STAR WINE 89-91 points, Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
‘Here too there is enough wood present to merit pointing out framing the slightly more elegant essence of red berry fruit aromas that are nuanced by hints of newly turned earth and spice wisps. There is once again a really lovely texture to the delicious flavors that deliver excellent length on the balanced bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. Impressive. Drink 2027+ ’ OUTSTANDING! TOP VALUE 87-89 points, BURGHOUND.COM APR 2024

Direct from the cool dark cellars of Rippon, and at 10 years old this is drinking beautifully. It’s interesting to taste the estate’s DNA, with no perceptible style changes over the years. As always, an expression of vintage, and 2012 is considered great according to Nick Mill, owner/winemaker at Rippon. Red fruits, cherry, plum, strawberry, […]

Planted across six blocks and utilizing a myriad of different clones. Wild fermentation with a small portion of whole bunches for perfume and structure. Aged in a combination of new and old French oak barriques and puncheons. Typical red and dark berry fruits are prominent, with floral and spice notes. Medium bodied, erring on the […]

The 2021 Toolangi Pinot has a nice array of expression so early here that’s good to see! Rose petal spiced plum and strawberries with some crushed nutmeg on the nose. The palate exhibits similar flavour spectrum with some nice density to it, trademark Toolangi tannin to close but its fresh and ready to go! Fruit […]

“A four-vineyard, six-clone blend; 20% wholes bunches, 15% new oak. A bright crimson red. A lifted bouquet redolent of summer red fruits, poached rhubarb, rose bush and white pepper. The energetic palate is light to medium bodied with the wine’s fine-grained tannins and bright acidity making for a delicious and refreshing mouthful. Good, nay, great […]
