From 40+ year old vines in Petit Pré that were once classified as Volnay villages, actually just 8 meters away from current Volnay vines.
The 2017 Bourgogne Pinot Noir, which comes from vineyards just across the RN74 road in Volnay, offers pretty Morello cherries and crushed strawberry on the nose. The palate is well balanced with sappy red berry fruit, a fine bead of acidity, just a little short towards the finish but otherwise this does the job nicely. Although, I might just have a soft spot for the Passetoutgrain this year! 86-89 Points Drink: 2019-2024 Neil Martin vinous.com Jan 2019
