Kerri Greens Foothills Pinot Noir 2020

$38.00

The Murra Pinot Noir is hand harvested from a selection of rows from the Silverwood vineyard. Vineyard established 1998, managed by Kerri Greens since 2016.

We experienced long, gentle ripening conditions in 2020 delivering a spotless crop with an intricate flavour profile. Fruit was picked in the second week of March. Fully destemmed directly to bins by gravity, as softly and slowly as possible, no crush. The focus being on keeping the berries as whole as possible. There was no addition of sulphur or yeast and the must was left undisturbed until fermentation naturally began 5 days later. Plunged softly, lovingly, daily. With a significantly reduced crop this year the decision was made to use no new wood, for fear of overpowering the delicate fruit. Left to mature in a 1yo and a 2yo Francois Freres Puncheons for a full 12 months. Winemaker’s Notes

An exciting addition to the Peninsula wine scene, Kerri Greens brings together two adventurous and forward-thinking young vignerons – Tom McCarthy and Lucas Blanck, crafting single-site wines from self-managed vineyards in Balnarring and Red Hill.
