From a vineyard to the north of Nuits, close to Vosne-Romanee. This is a huge wine, dark in colour and dark in flavour. Despite the vineyards proximity to Vosne-Romanee this is very much a Nuits. Blackberry, blackcurrant, mulberry, blood plum, wood spice and flowers. Full bodied, immensely powerful, with a sort of granite like quality; I can’t imagine this ever growing old or tired. Luscious and silken, a terrific flow and glide with ripe, yet soft tannins. Still quite elemental and very young, this will take a few years at least to come together.
