This would bring a tear to the eye of any wine grower in Gevrey-Chambertin. Expressive with clove, bay and aniseed spice, blackberry, mulberry, plum and mixed red fruits. Muscular and angular with sinued flesh stretched taught across the frame. Intense palate, cut through with herbs, spices, tobacco, Serrano and summer fruits. Firm. Estate-grown MV6, 60% whole bunches, wild-fermented/macerated 21 days on skins, matured for 11 months in French oak (33% new), 120 dozen made. Good colour; a highly expressive red and purple-fruited bouquet segues into a well built and balanced palate in the power-laden Clyde Park style.
