Tomoko’s previous source, Trois Follots, has been passed over in favour of a more conscientious grower with vines in La Vache and En Mareau. Both lieux-dits lie above the Premier Cru belt and are considered (La Vache in particular) to be amongst the finest village lieux-dits of Pommard. Both are relatively high-altitude parcels with iron-rich red soils. at Chanterêves, the thin topsoil and relatively steep slopes makes for a floral, lithe and elegant Pommard that defies stereotypes of this commune.
Our 2019 is indeed lifted with soft tannins. Freshness that is accentuated by the red fruit of griottes (or wild red cherry). Despite its alcohol level of 14%, conveys the coolness of high altitude.
