The Luciano Sandrone 2018 Nebbiolo d’Alba Valmaggiore shows a very fruity, fresh and accessible side of the Nebbiolo grape. This wine is open-knit and inviting with a steady succession of aromas that range from red cherry and plum to rosemary sprig and crushed mineral. On some level, you could call it Barolo Lite, although that does not do justice to the Valmaggiore vineyard in Roero that outperforms year after year. The wine is Barolo-adjacent for sure, but it offers its own bright and distinct personality. It’s an exciting, new generation of Nebbiolo. 94 Points – Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate

Producer: Luciano SandroneThis 2018 Langhe Nebbiolo is a fantastic introduction to the Cigliuti style of pure, ripe fruit framed by supple tannins and cleansing acidity. A lighter style Cigliuti but by no means light. Classic aromas of cherries and roses lead onto a fine yet sumptuous palate. 100% Nebbiolo from 15-year old vines growing on the Bricco […]

The winemaking itself is relatively easy, but the variety is so fickle: you have to adapt your farming to the site where it’s grown, and it has such a long growing season. There are so […]
Add to cart Producer: Lambert WinesThe 2022 Traviarti Mezzo Nebbiolo is from three sites, grown at different altitudes to produce a bright, rich and fresh rendition of Nebbiolo. 2022 is a cool and dry vintage, and this is certainly the best Mezzo to date. Classic notes of sweet cherry, raspberry, but also hedgefruits. Rippling and gripping, full of brightness and […]
Add to cart Producer: TraviartiConsidering some of the casks spent up to 2 months on skins, this is remarkably pure with extremely fine tannins. Compelling aromas of cassis, tar, cherry cola, leather polish, nutmeg, liquorice, cigar box, roses, cherry and violet. Tighter than the Le Vigne, and I prefer this in 2017, although usually Le Vigne gets my nod. […]
