For over 15 years, Cameron and Robert John have been pioneering Nebbiolo at the Malakoff vineyard in the Landsborough Valley, Pyrenees, Victoria. Another ripper vintage for the Nebbiolo from this site, even though the yields were so low compared to other seasons and the season had its many challenges.
Only one harvest date this year, just before the late rains came though. Fermentation was in open concrete vats, very little whole bunch, basket pressed earlier than previous vintages, élevage for 12 months in 2 x 500L puncheons bottled in June 2021. It has been another patient waiting game, the wine now looks so good to go.
