La Spinetta’s motto is ‘making wine with passion’ and their traditional methods have produced a 2016 Langhe Nebbiolo of the highest quality. Aromas of dried rose petals, plum and blueberry fruit. It’s full-bodied, rich and chewy with dusty tannins and a juicy yet elegant finish.
100% Nebbiolo from the Starderi cru in Neive. The 22-25 year old vines grow at an altitude of 270m on calcareous soils with a southern exposure. The vineyard is managed sustainably, with no use of herbicides or pesticides. Fermentation for 7-8 days in temperature controlled roto-fermenters followed by malolactic fermentation in oak. The wine spends 12 months in medium toast, used French oak barrels and is later transferred to stainless steel vats for two months. After bottling, it is aged for another 12 months before release. No fining or filtration.
