The 2014 Le Cedre from Chateau du Cedre is black as ink. It has aromas and a palate of blackcurrant, mulberry and blackberry mingled with spice. Dense, tannic and immensely powerful, this wine is fit for a table of medieval Knights!
Made from 100% Malbec vines planted in two different soil types. The limestone and stony clay soil imparts the wine’s florals and finer tannins. The pebbly sand and clay soil gives the wine greater density and structure. Made from yields of less than 20 hl/ha, the wine is fermented and aged for 2 years in old oak barrels. It is neither fined or filtered.
