Deep and complex with notes Daphne, chocolate, red, black and blue fruits and autumnal notes. Subtle richness. Terrific volume, weightless somehow but with undeniable presence. Mineral too. Fine, fine, fine wine, finishing with a squeeze of tannin. Australian benchmark, no doubt about it. Waters Wine Co.
A bright, juicy and lithe mid ruby grenache. The proviso, a bit sweet. Succulent. Aromas of raspberry liqueur, white pepper, thyme, cranberry and orange zest are directed by a briary scrub of fine tannins and a saline freshness. The well-appointed oak is more measured than for the top cuvées and serves as an adjunct rather than a scream. 93 points – Ned Goodwin MW, Halliday Wine Companion 2022
