Far and away the best La Petite Grenache to date, the 2020 is generous, fluid and vibrant. Roses, pomegranate, cranberry and strawberry mingle with clove and aniseed. Pure and juicy palate, so fresh and bright, but deep and detailed too. Red fruits, and some dark plum and kirsch with flecks of vanilla bean. One of the best bistro reds around, that will go with almost anything. Waters Wine Co.
As always, the La Petite Vanguard Grenache is youthful and vibrant. Great drinkability, enhanced by layers of complexity from thoughtful use of solids, skin contact, oak and other vessels. Around 50% whole bunch, some carbonic, some more traditional. Aged 500L puncheons and 600L demi-muid housed the wine for about 6 months post press, before the final wine was blended and sent to bottle without fining or filtration.
