The JC’s Own Originale 2016 Grenache is from a 150-year-old vineyard in the Angaston Foothills of Barossa Valley. Strikingly original, 100% whole bunch and naturally fermented. A hedonistic nose of violets, black and red fruits and spice. Despite the wines immensity, there is no heaviness. Red fruits and blueberries fill the palate, but there is spice and herbs too. The whole bunches show but are well integrated adding a touch of sappiness, freshness and length. Sensational, one of the best Australian Grenaches that I’ve ever had. Bottled without fining and filtration.
