The articulation of this exalted site in such deft hands elevates Bondar into the top-tier. Limited to the likes of Thistledown, Yangarra, Samson Tall and Beckett. Now, these guys. Planted in 1970. Hand picked. Ambient ferment with 20% bunches in ceramic eggs and seasoned French wood. Rosehip, cranberry, pomegranate and wild strawberry. Bracing freshness and a tactile web of diaphanous tannins, reining in any excess. Almost alpine herbal. Granular acidity tows it long. Stunning. 95 points – Ned Goodwin, Halliday Wine Companion 2022
Pretty, perfumed, pot-pourri, spice, red cherry, really enticing and evocative. The palate is mid-weight, fleshy, textured, youthful and exuberant. There is a lovely purity of red and blue fruits that are sweet and fleshy, but then layered tannins come into play as well as some taut acidity, and all is deliciously drinkable and lush, but with a savoury, textural, lengthy finish. 95 points – Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
