The 2018 El Marciano from Alfredo Maestro is again a ripper. Lightly crushed with 100% Grenache whole bunches retained and wild fermented in stainless steel. This is Spanish Garnacha in its most glowing form. The wine typifies Maestro’s delicate touch and respect for his land. Striking a perfect balance of perfume, power and refinement. Bursting with spicy, dark cherry, liquorice and mineral notes and flavours. The powdery, high grown finish brings it all together. Superb.
Fermented in stainless steel with wild yeast and no additions of any kind. The wine undergoes daily pump-overs and 20 days maceration on skins. The tank is taken outside of the winery for ageing in order to use winter’s cold temperatures to clarify and stabilise the wine in a natural way. Racked prior to bottling.
