Beautiful, light garnet colour all shimmering and pretty. Just shy of medium weight, a sheath of firm but silky tannins, cherry juice, pomegranate, rose hip tea the baselines. Light spice elements, dry and savoury, exceptional structure through this wine, you feel all the ribs of grip and pucker, a skeleton draped in Something Special Grenache. Tannins of great nebbiolo, let’s say. Tightly wound, don’t expect flourishes, this is complex and wonderful stuff here. 94+ Points – Mike Bennie, The Winefront
Adelina’s Grenache – an ode to Emmanuel Reynaud’s legendary Château Rayas – is sourced from an Estate-owned, old-vine 2-acre parcel planted in 1942 on dessicated grey loams. Otherwise known as the Springvale block, or Block 2, it’s also just a stone’s throw away from the iconic Wendouree vineyard.
