The 2018 Clos Bertrand is garnet red in colour with a bluish reflection. Wonderfully floral nose of irises and peonies, complimented by bright cherries. Nicely rounded palate of black fruits and spices. Finish is long and silky. Exquisite Beaujolais! Partially destemmed and then macerated for 10-14 days. Matured in oak barrels for 7-9 months.
Floral, fresh, juicy, spice and red and white stone fruit. Medium-bodied, fresh strawberry and cherry stone, stony tannin, a juicy and expansive feel, long bright finish. Excellent. More to come here, with a bit more bottle age. 93+ points – Gary Walsh, The Winefront
