From very low-yielding vines, the Farrajales Rouge 2017 is made from 100% Organic Cinsault grapes. This variety is more typically used in blended wines or Rose in the Languedoc. Domaine de Courbissac instead crafts a stunningly juicy, yet delicate red. Fantastic perfume of red berries and a touch of spice. Just beautiful!
Les Farradjales takes its name from an old vineyard set in the high Minervois on rocky, white clay and limestone soils. It is roughly 12 kilometres uphill from the winery. In this very cool, stoney vineyard, Claux’s 70-year-old Cinsault vines yield only 20 hl/ha. It’s pretty rare to find a straight Cinsault but low yields and poor soil combine to produce a beautiful Languedoc wine.
