Fusco is a Galician word for night or darkness, and is also Xurxo Alba’s first red, or dark wine. The source of Fusco is Mencia old vines grown on slatey terraced slopes in Ribeira Sacra. The fruit is spontaneously fermented in stainless steel with native yeast and given a long maceration before being bottled unfined and unfiltered. The result is a bright, fresh medium-bodied dry red, with a delicious combination of red and dark berry fruit flavours and savoury spice characters on a softly textured palate.
