Darker and deeper in colour to the great 2019. Very much a reflection of the vintage, and I love how different this is to other recent releases and yet seems entirely familiar. Black and bramble fruits, and a compote of summer berries, sweet and tart. Flowers of lavender and violet, sage, cigar box, camphor and coal. Deep and tense, almost overwhelmingly powerful, earthier, grittier than I would have expected. Magnificent as ever. Waters Wine Co
Cabernet sauvignon (92%), merlot, cabernet franc and malbec, hand-picked on fruit days, French oak (50% new) for 13 months. The perfumed bouquet has soaked up the new oak, the purity of the fruit in a cassis/redcurrant/blueberry spectrum. The medium-bodied palate is so perfectly balanced it has a drinking span of 30 years and counting. 98 Points – James Halliday (Weekend Australian)
Dark, deep and a really youthful purple colour in the glass. Lifted and complex aromas of cedar, graphite, blackberry, brambles, violets and a briary underbrush edge. Full, rich, layered and complex, lashings of mulberry and blackcurrant-y fruit, firm, granular, textured tannins and lively acidity. Just beginning its journey and what a journey it shall be. 97 Points – Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

The wine is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon & 25% Cabernet Franc. Beautiful lifted, spiced blue fruits and baked red fruit are the primary forces here. Rhubarb, Mulberry and morello cherry coupled with mixed spice and bay leaves that carry through the palate. The chalky texture along with lovely, supple acidity, pull the wine […]
Add to cart Producer: Crawford River‘Cordon Cut’ refers to the unusual practice of cutting the canes allowing the grapes to ‘raisin’ naturally on the vine, concentrating flavour and sugar levels. 2020 is another outstanding vintage for Mount Horrocks. The wine is a bright, pale white gold colour with concentrated lemon-lime and vanilla spice. The juicy fruit washes over a vibrant […]
Add to cart Producer: Mount HorrocksThe 2017 Vat 6 Tyrrell’s Pinot Noir is gorgeous. It’s nervy and has that fabulous angular structure unique to Tyrrell’s. There is a complexity of flavour that I have not yet seen from this wine. Raspberry, strawberry and cranberry with hints of porcini mushroom and cured meat. There are also wonderful hints of oak spice […]
Add to cart Producer: Tyrrell'sIf you love full-bodied cabernet, this is for you. A ripe style of fleshy, spicy black/redcurrants and cassis. Bright acidity, finely structured tannins, vibrant fruit and dark chocolate and coffee oak make for impressive balance, undeterred persistence and considerable integrity. With plenty of ripe blackberries, some raspberry and even violets, this perfumed wine has softly […]
