Darker and deeper in colour to the great 2019. Very much a reflection of the vintage, and I love how different this is to other recent releases and yet seems entirely familiar. Black and bramble fruits, and a compote of summer berries, sweet and tart. Flowers of lavender and violet, sage, cigar box, camphor and coal. Deep and tense, almost overwhelmingly powerful, earthier, grittier than I would have expected. Magnificent as ever. Waters Wine Co
Cabernet sauvignon (92%), merlot, cabernet franc and malbec, hand-picked on fruit days, French oak (50% new) for 13 months. The perfumed bouquet has soaked up the new oak, the purity of the fruit in a cassis/redcurrant/blueberry spectrum. The medium-bodied palate is so perfectly balanced it has a drinking span of 30 years and counting. 98 Points – James Halliday (Weekend Australian)
Dark, deep and a really youthful purple colour in the glass. Lifted and complex aromas of cedar, graphite, blackberry, brambles, violets and a briary underbrush edge. Full, rich, layered and complex, lashings of mulberry and blackcurrant-y fruit, firm, granular, textured tannins and lively acidity. Just beginning its journey and what a journey it shall be. 97 Points – Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

The Cavallotto 2018 Barolo Bricco Boschis (a certified organic wine) is a lovely expression with fruit from one of the most beautiful sites in Castiglione Falletto, measuring 7.3 hectares. The wine is streamlined and tight with forest berry, blackcurrant and spice. It is taut and silky, showing fruit that has been shaped by cool nights […]
Add to cart Producer: CavallottoThis is arguably the greatest rosé wine of Champagne. Why is it so good? Well, the first reason is that the fruit comes from 100% Grand Cru estate vines grown by one of the most meticulous vignerons in the region. Then there is the five percent of Egly’s 2015 Coteaux Champenois Rouge—the finest red wine […]
Add to cart Producer: Egly-Ouriet‘Cordon Cut’ refers to the unusual practice of cutting the canes allowing the grapes to ‘raisin’ naturally on the vine, concentrating flavour and sugar levels. 2020 is another outstanding vintage for Mount Horrocks. The wine is a bright, pale white gold colour with concentrated lemon-lime and vanilla spice. The juicy fruit washes over a vibrant […]
Add to cart Producer: Mount HorrocksPre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]
