Darker and deeper in colour to the great 2019. Very much a reflection of the vintage, and I love how different this is to other recent releases and yet seems entirely familiar. Black and bramble fruits, and a compote of summer berries, sweet and tart. Flowers of lavender and violet, sage, cigar box, camphor and coal. Deep and tense, almost overwhelmingly powerful, earthier, grittier than I would have expected. Magnificent as ever. Waters Wine Co
Cabernet sauvignon (92%), merlot, cabernet franc and malbec, hand-picked on fruit days, French oak (50% new) for 13 months. The perfumed bouquet has soaked up the new oak, the purity of the fruit in a cassis/redcurrant/blueberry spectrum. The medium-bodied palate is so perfectly balanced it has a drinking span of 30 years and counting. 98 Points – James Halliday (Weekend Australian)
Dark, deep and a really youthful purple colour in the glass. Lifted and complex aromas of cedar, graphite, blackberry, brambles, violets and a briary underbrush edge. Full, rich, layered and complex, lashings of mulberry and blackcurrant-y fruit, firm, granular, textured tannins and lively acidity. Just beginning its journey and what a journey it shall be. 97 Points – Aaron Brasher, The Real Review

Pre-arrival due August Prüm’s 2015 Graacher Himmelreich Spätlese is clear, intense and flinty on the nose, very precise but well concentrated; however, it is the most reductive of the Spätlese quartet. Round and piquant, with a stimulating fruit and salinity, this is a very well-defined, crystalline and straight Spätlese of great finesse and elegance. It […]
Add to cart Producer: JJ PrumThree gorgeous cabernets this vintage from young Joshua Cooper and what a delight: all distinct with their own personalities expressing site. He says this sits at 450m above sea level on the southern granitic slopes of Mount Alexander (Leanganook) looking back towards the Macedon Ranges, and a late ripening site. Dark, inky and enticing with […]
Add to cart Producer: Joshua CooperThe Salomon Finniss 2018 is the essence of Australian Cabernet Sauvignon. Full on, intense and big. Masses of blackcurrant, brambly fruits and plum. There’s plenty of oak to boot, but it’s nicely soaked up by the volume of fruit. Waters Wine Co Click here for our full Salomon range
