Lambert Crudo Chardonnay 2021
Similar to Luke Lambert Chardonnay, and as much of a bargain. There are few wines, of any varietal that can deliver this level of quality and complexity at this price. Rich, concentrated with white peach, grapefruit, lime and wafts of white flowers. Subtle leesy cream with a backbone of freshness and a biting mineral finish. Bloody awesome as always.
Sinapius Tamar Valley Riesling 2020
Lavender, apple, butter, grapefruit, cherry, blackcurrant and lime wafting. Round, full bodied, luscious, bright and vital, this really is a treat.
Swinney Riesling 2021
Riper and more open than the 2019, it’s lovely to see the different characteristics of the vintages expressed here. Classic notes of jasmine, lime honey, guava grapefruit. Juicy, unctuous palate and far more complex than expected. Grapefruit, orange, white peach, seaweed and mint. Controlled opulence, looser in structure and devilishly delicious.
Dormilona Chenin 2021
This is top-notch 100% Organic Chenin Blanc from Yungarra in Yallingup. The fruit was hand-harvested, then whole-bunch pressed directly to a combination of Italian amphora, new French oak puncheons and some seasoned barrels. There was a little bâtonnage over three months then everything was racked to settle before bottling.
Mulline Pinot Gris 2021
Yummy! Aromas of pear, melon, spice, lime and stone fruits. Voluminous palate, with terrific freshness and pitched weight. Cut flowers, cherry, plum, lime pear, apricot, lavender honey and nectarine. Succulent and tingling. Gorgeous.
Bondar Fiano 2021
Bondar’s 2021 Fiano is made with fruit from the Lacey block, three kilometres due east of the pristine Maslin Beach coastline. Some skin contact and ageing in old French barrels gives this fresh, aromatic variety texture and complexity. A cracking example of one of McLaren Vale’s rising star white varieties.
